The Fortnite Item Shop normally refreshes at around 00:00 GMT (UTC) each day. That is 8:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) or 7:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST). The clock changes in the United States because of daylight saving time; the UTC reset does not. Not every outfit disappears at reset, and a refresh does not guarantee that a particular skin will return.
What time does the Fortnite Item Shop reset?
The regular daily rotation is based on a fixed UTC time. Use the table below to convert it for common US time zones. These are local clock times on the previous calendar day relative to midnight UTC.
| US time zone | During daylight saving time | During standard time |
|---|---|---|
| Eastern | 8:00 p.m. EDT | 7:00 p.m. EST |
| Central | 7:00 p.m. CDT | 6:00 p.m. CST |
| Mountain | 6:00 p.m. MDT | 5:00 p.m. MST |
| Pacific | 5:00 p.m. PDT | 4:00 p.m. PST |
Arizona and Hawaii do not follow the same daylight saving schedule as most states, so use your device’s local time-zone conversion instead of assuming the seasonal column applies everywhere.
How to check today’s Fortnite Item Shop
- Launch Fortnite and sign in to the correct Epic Games account.
- Open the Shop tab from the game’s main interface.
- Look at each section separately. Featured bundles, collaborations and seasonal offers may have different availability windows.
- Select an item to inspect its V-Bucks price, included cosmetics and any displayed expiration information before buying.
- If the shop appears stale near reset, leave the shop screen and reopen it. A brief delay is not evidence that the daily reset time changed.
The most reliable source for an item that is available to your account is the in-game shop. Third-party trackers can be useful for browsing, but their listings may lag, omit region-specific offers or show a different presentation.
Why did a Fortnite skin disappear?
The shop is a rotating storefront, not a permanent catalog. A cosmetic can leave when its sale window ends. Some collaborations depend on licensing arrangements and may not return on a predictable schedule. A promotional item or a Battle Pass reward may have separate availability rules; do not assume that every cosmetic can be purchased later.
If an item vanishes before you buy it, there is no legitimate method to force the shop to sell it to you. Websites offering special codes, unauthorized account access or unusually cheap third-party skins are common sources of fraud. Only purchase through official channels.
Why doesn’t the shop change exactly at reset?
First check whether you converted UTC correctly. In the US, the shop reset looks one hour earlier in winter than in summer. Next, check for an update or a temporary service issue. During major live events, Epic may change how a particular offer is displayed or sold. A shop rotation can also keep many of the same cosmetics while adding or removing only a few.
Restarting the game can refresh the interface, but it will not alter the items available on Epic’s servers. Avoid reinstalling the entire game solely because the same outfit is still shown after reset.
What to know before buying V-Bucks items
Open the item’s details rather than judging it from the preview tile. Check whether the listing is a bundle, whether you already own part of it and what is actually included. Some purchases may be eligible for cancellation or return under Epic’s rules, but eligibility varies by item and purchase type. Read our Fortnite refunds guide for the difference between canceling a purchase and using a return ticket.
If you plan to gift an item, remember that gifting has its own requirements. Our Fortnite gifting guide explains the normal process, while our gifting troubleshooting guide covers common eligibility problems.
