Small Prophets Release Schedule: Apple TV Episode Dates

Quick answer: Small Prophets premieres on Apple TV on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 with its first two episodes. The remaining four episodes arrive weekly on Wednesdays, with the six-episode season ending on November 4. One important exception: Apple says the series will not arrive on Apple TV in the U.K. until 2027.

Apple has already published the complete rollout pattern, which makes this one of the easier new-series schedules to plan around.

Small Prophets full release schedule

The dates come directly from Apple TV’s September 30 press release, which says the series launches with two episodes and then continues every Wednesday through November 4.

What time do new Small Prophets episodes appear?

Apple’s press release confirms the dates but does not promise a universal local clock time in every country. Apple TV originals commonly become available around the service’s global release window, but regional app behavior and account location can differ. The safest approach is to use the calendar date above and check the Apple TV app when the new release day begins in your region.

If Episode 3 or a later installment is not visible at midnight local time, that does not necessarily mean the episode has been delayed.

Why are Episodes 1 and 2 released together?

Apple is using a two-episode launch to establish the characters and premise before moving to a one-episode-per-week cadence. That gives viewers enough material to understand the tone without turning the entire six-episode season into a single-day binge.

After October 7, there is one new episode each Wednesday for four weeks.

What is Small Prophets about?

Small Prophets is a six-part comedy created, written and directed by Mackenzie Crook, best known for Detectorists. Apple’s description presents the story as an offbeat, character-driven comedy rather than a high-concept thriller or conventional sitcom.

The rural, understated setting and ensemble cast are a large part of the appeal. Viewers looking for a compact series can finish the entire season within less than a month after launch.

Who is in the cast?

Apple’s announced cast includes:

• Pearce Quigley
• Lauren Patel
• Sir Michael Palin
• Mackenzie Crook
• Sophie Willan
• Jon Pointing
• Paul Kaye

The presence of Michael Palin and Crook has helped generate early interest among viewers who follow British comedy, while the six-episode format makes the show easy to sample without a long-season commitment.

Why is the Apple TV release different in the UK?

Apple explicitly says the October 7 global launch excludes the U.K., where Apple TV subscribers will receive the series in 2027. The reason is that the show had already been released through BBC channels in the U.K. earlier in 2026, creating a different local rights window.

That means a U.K. Apple TV subscriber should not expect the same October 7 availability shown in U.S. and many international listings.

Is Small Prophets a binge release?

No. Only the first two episodes arrive together. Episodes 3 through 6 are weekly. If you prefer to binge the entire season, the date to wait for is November 4, 2026.

How many episodes are there?

Apple confirms six episodes in Season 1. Because that number comes from the platform’s own press release, it is more reliable than early database listings that may still be incomplete.

Where can you watch Small Prophets?

The October rollout is on Apple TV in participating territories outside the U.K. Availability can vary by country, so search the title inside the Apple TV app if the show does not appear on your home page.

In the U.K., viewers should use the services that currently hold the local rights rather than assuming the Apple TV page is live immediately.

Should you wait until the finale?

If avoiding week-to-week waiting matters more than following discussion in real time, November 4 is the best date to start. The whole season will then consist of six episodes, making it a manageable binge. If you enjoy weekly conversation, the two-episode October 7 launch gives enough story to begin before the weekly cadence starts.
