How to enable Roblox dark mode on iPhone and Android
- Open the official Roblox mobile app and sign into the account you normally use.
- Choose More in the app navigation. The More control can change location across device sizes and updates, so look for its name rather than copying a screenshot from an older tutorial.
- Tap the Settings tile.
- Select Device preferences.
- Find Device level theme and pick Dark.
- Return to the main app pages to see the change.
Dark is a manual choice: it keeps the Roblox app’s interface dark independently of whether iOS or Android currently uses a light system theme. Selecting System instead tells Roblox to follow the operating system’s appearance. Choosing Light keeps Roblox light.

Why Roblox dark mode may not appear or may switch back
You are using the wrong settings page
Mobile apps and the dedicated desktop application call it Device preferences; the website calls it Browser preferences. If you follow phone instructions in a desktop browser, the controls will not match.
The setting is on System
System is not the same as permanently Dark. If your phone or computer changes its appearance to Light, Roblox may follow. Select Dark explicitly if you want a consistent setting.
Different devices show different themes
Roblox’s official support says the preference changes the theme only on the device currently in use. A dark theme chosen in your laptop browser is not evidence that the app on your phone will also be dark. Repeat the steps wherever you play.
A particular game still looks bright
Theme settings are not in-game lighting switches. Try navigating back to the Roblox menus to judge whether the setting took effect, rather than checking the sky or interface artwork within a creator-made experience.
The controls have moved since a video was recorded
First check the official Roblox instructions against the platform you actually use. Update the app or reload the page if its interface is not responding. Avoid browser extensions or APK downloads advertised as necessary to unlock dark mode; this is a built-in setting.
Does dark mode hide your Roblox activity?
