Change your Roblox display name on a computer

Why Roblox might not let you change your display name
You’ve changed it within seven days
Roblox limits display-name changes to once every seven days. There is no documented way to bypass this waiting period by changing devices or clearing an app cache. Wait until the eligible date and try again.
The name fails the content filter
Roblox filters display names under its Community Standards. Names containing prohibited language, impersonation, or unsafe references may be rejected or later reset. Try a neutral variation that represents you without copying someone else’s identity.
You are editing the username field instead
If Roblox is asking for a Robux payment, you are likely on the username-change screen, not the free display-name editor. Go back to Account Info and locate the separate Display Name field.
The setting or Save button is missing
Update the app, try the official website in a browser, and confirm that the account is actually signed in. If a page does not load or saving fails, wait and retry rather than repeatedly submitting the same request. Use Roblox Support if the issue persists.
Choosing a better display name
A useful display name is readable, easy to recognize and consistent with the identity you want in games. Avoid personally identifying information such as your full real name, school or location. Fancy characters may appear differently across devices or games; simple spelling often makes it easier for friends to recognize you.
Importantly, changing your display name does not transfer items, change your username, move Robux, hide your account, or create another account. It is a label change, not an account reset.
