Quick answer: Mike Flanagan’s Carrie series premieres on Prime Video on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. All eight episodes are being released together rather than weekly. Current release listings place the drop at about 12 a.m. Pacific / 3 a.m. Eastern / 8 a.m. UK time.
Because Prime Video sometimes uses different release patterns for originals, viewers have been searching for the exact time, whether the whole season drops at once and how this adaptation differs from earlier Carrie movies. This guide puts the confirmed information and the useful viewing details in one place.
What time does Carrie 2026 release on Prime Video?
Current Prime Video release guides and same-day listings point to midnight Pacific time on October 7, which converts to 3 a.m. Eastern and 8 a.m. in the UK. The service can occasionally make a title visible a few minutes early or late on individual devices, so treat the exact minute as an expected platform window.

Are all eight episodes released at once?
Yes. Unlike many prestige series that use a weekly schedule, Carrie is a full-season binge release. EntertainmentNow and GamesRadar both report that all eight episodes arrive on October 7. That means there is no Episode 2 wait the following week.
For spoiler-sensitive viewers, the all-at-once format matters. Major plot turns from the entire season can begin circulating online within hours of release.
How many episodes are in Carrie?
The first season contains eight episodes, each built around an expanded version of Stephen King’s story. Mike Flanagan directs four of the eight episodes, including the opening pair and the final pair, while other directors handle the middle chapters.
The eight-episode format gives the adaptation more room than a feature film to explore Carrie’s home life, classmates, school environment and the social pressure surrounding her.
What are the Carrie 2026 episode titles?
Published release schedules list the opening episodes with school-subject-style titles. Prime Video may update title formatting in the app, so the service itself remains the final reference. The important release fact is that all eight episodes become available the same day.
If you only want release information and not story clues, avoid detailed episode synopses until after watching.
Where can you watch Carrie?
The new series is a Prime Video original and streams there exclusively in supported territories. You can watch through the Prime Video app on compatible TVs, phones, tablets, streaming sticks, game consoles or a web browser with an eligible Prime Video subscription.
Availability and subscription pricing vary by country. Search for the 2026 series rather than the older films, because Prime Video may also surface previous Carrie adaptations in results.
Who plays Carrie White?
Summer H. Howell stars as Carrie White, with Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White. The ensemble also includes Siena Agudong, Alison Thornton, Joel Oulette, Josie Totah, Amber Midthunder and Matthew Lillard. Flanagan regulars and other guest performers appear throughout the season.
Is this a remake of the 1976 movie?
Not exactly. The series is a new adaptation of Stephen King’s 1974 novel rather than a scene-for-scene remake of Brian De Palma’s 1976 film. It preserves the core premise—an isolated teenage girl discovers telekinetic powers amid cruelty at school and pressure at home—but expands the story for television and updates parts of the social setting.
The modern version places more emphasis on how humiliation can spread through phones and social media, giving the familiar bullying dynamic a contemporary mechanism.
Why the series format changes the story
A feature film has to move quickly from Carrie’s home and school life toward the famous climax. Eight television episodes can spend more time on supporting characters, the community and the consequences of each conflict. That does not guarantee every subplot will be new, but it gives the adaptation room to build tension more gradually.
For viewers familiar only with the earlier movies, the expanded runtime is likely the biggest structural difference.
How to avoid the wrong Carrie listing
- Look for the 2026 series.
- Check that Summer H. Howell is listed as Carrie.
- Confirm the title is a series with eight episodes, not a single film.
- Use the Prime Video series page rather than third-party “watch free” pages.
Can you binge Carrie in one day?
Yes. Because all eight episodes are released together, the entire season is available for a same-day binge. If episodes average roughly an hour, a full watch will take most of a day once breaks are included.
